A 39-year-old woman identified as Claudete Gomes da Silva was fatally stabbed on Wednesday night (2) in Santa Maria do Pará, in the northeastern part of the state. Her partner, 41-year-old Jeferson Bezerra de Oliveira, was arrested at the scene and is being investigated for femicide.

According to information received by the Military Police, Claudete was at a bar on Corujão Street when she was attacked. The victim suffered stab wounds to the neck. Bystanders tried to help her, but she did not survive her injuries and passed away.

Following the crime, police teams began searching for the suspect. Around 9:30 PM, officers received information regarding the clothing he was wearing and managed to locate him walking along the BR-010 highway, near the Rodoviário intersection.

During questioning, the man denied involvement in the murder and allegedly attempted to conceal his identity, initially telling police his name was "Jackson." However, his true identity had already been discovered during a search of his home.

Inside the property, police found a medical prescription bearing the suspect's real name. At the time of the arrest, the team also noticed a scratch on his neck. The origin of the injury will be clarified as the investigation proceeds.

According to reports from neighbors provided to the police, Claudete had also been assaulted during an argument with her partner. The dispute, according to this information, involved money allegedly intended for the purchase of narcotics.

Jeferson was arrested and remains in custody pending further legal proceedings. The Civil Police are investigating the details of the crime, the motive, and the circumstances surrounding the victim's death.

In a statement, the Civil Police reported that a man was arrested for femicide. According to the police, the detainee is in custody, and investigations are underway to clarify the motive and circumstances of the crime. Furthermore, forensic analyses have been requested to assist in the investigation of the events.
