A woman died after being stabbed by her live-in partner in the house she lived in in Poblacion Sur, Don Carlos, Bukidnon, Saturday afternoon.
The victim is twenty-two years old while the suspect is 27 years old.
During the investigation by the Don Carlos Municipal Police Station, the two had a fight.
“They had an argument because the victim wanted to take his child so that he could give it to him. The child is still nine months old. The suspect did not want to give it up. That’s when their heated arguments started,” said Don Carlos Municipal Police. Station chief Police Maj. Patrick Castro.
The suspect punched the victim until he stabbed him with a broken glass.
The victim died on arrival at the hospital due to injuries sustained in various parts of the body.
The suspect tried to run away, but the police caught up and caught him.
According to the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office, the suspect may be under the influence of illegal drugs.
“On the account of our questioned neighbors, it was identified, allegedly, as using illegal drugs,” said Police Col. Reynante Reyes, Bukidnon Police Provincial Director.
Reyes added, the live-in partner has been together for just over a year.
“It is always noticed that these two are fighting,” according to Reyes.
The suspect will be charged with murder.
The police will also ask the court for permission to subject the suspect to a drug test.
