A brutal mass shooting unfolded in Guayaquil after armed attackers opened fire on a group of people gathered near the intersection of Gómez Rendón and Guerrero Valenzuela.

According to local reports, the attack happened around 9:00 PM when gunmen arrived in a vehicle and began spraying bullets into a crowd that was reportedly drinking outside. Witnesses said panic erupted as victims tried to run, but the shooters allegedly chased them down, extending the gunfire across the street.

Three people reportedly died at the scene, while three more succumbed to injuries while being transported to hospitals. Authorities indicated that some of the dead may have been bystanders caught in the chaos rather than intended targets.

The massacre came just one day after another deadly shooting in the Cuba neighborhood of Guayaquil, highlighting a continuing wave of violence gripping parts of Ecuador’s largest city.

Videos and local coverage from the aftermath showed police sealing off the area under heavy presence while investigators documented shell casings and interviewed shaken witnesses.
