A video shows young people—apparently no older than 16—filming the execution of two citizens in the Playas canton of Guayas province, Ecuador. The suspects are believed to be members of a criminal gang.

As if the murder of two people were not enough, those involved apparently decided to turn this act of barbarism into an audiovisual production, editing the footage with the sort of questionable rap songs that seem to have been composed by someone with three brain cells—all of them on strike.

This practice is reminiscent of certain criminal factions in Brazil, which also use violent videos set to ridiculous rap tracks to demonstrate their power, intimidate rivals, and fuel their own criminal mythology.

Listening to these songs is such an excruciating experience that, for a few seconds, the brain seems to beg for mercy.
