Israel announced the destruction of a major, strategic Hezbollah tunnel network beneath the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. According to a joint statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, the underground complex was built over two decades with Iranian funding and planning.

Hezbollah officials had previously stated they would defend the hill "until the last man" because of its exceptional importance.
Despite intense fighting, resupply attempts, and drone attacks to hold the position, the IDF successfully cleared the tunnels and used roughly 700 tons of explosives to completely neutralize the complex.

The siege trapped several dozen Hezbollah fighters and Iranian IRGC advisers inside—with reports of many militiamen starving to death while trapped underneath.

The IDF says more than 1,100 tons of explosives were used to demolish the Hezbollah tunnels beneath the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon this evening.
