Residents of Desa Saptorenggo, Kecamatan Pakis, Kabupaten Malang, were shocked by the discovery of a young man found dead in the local public cemetery on Wednesday morning (25/2/2026).

The victim was identified by the initials TA (22), a resident of Kecamatan Blimbing, Kota Malang, who also lived in Saptorenggo. He was found hanging from a tree by a passerby at around 06:15 WIB.

Kapolsek Pakis, AKP Suyanto, explained that the first report was received by the police at around 06:35 WIB.

"At around 06:15 WIB, a witness was passing by the cemetery and saw from a distance what looked like a person hanging. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that a man had indeed passed away," said AKP Suyanto.

After noticing the incident, the witness immediately reported it to the village officials, who then forwarded it to Polsek Pakis. Police officers, along with medical personnel from Puskesmas Pakis, went to the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation (TKP) and evacuate the body to the mortuary of RSSA Kota Malang for a visum et repertum.

From the crime scene investigation, police secured several pieces of evidence, including a blue rope approximately four meters long, a notebook containing the victim's apology to his parents, and the victim's motorcycle parked not far from the location.

Based on the initial medical examination, no signs of violence were found on the victim's body. The family was reported to have accepted the incident with sincerity.

Police confirmed that the investigation would continue to complete administrative procedures and ensure there were no other elements involved in the incident.
