Since the evening of last Wednesday (21/5), the Campinho Community in Rio de Janeiro has been transformed into a war zone between factions. Criminals from the Comando Vermelho (CV) and Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP) clashed and left trails of blood in the streets after intense shootings.

The war between the factions has left innocent people injured. According to the State Department of Military Police, two people were admitted to the UPA in Madureira. At the scene, police officers from the 9th BPM (Rocha Miranda) confirmed the arrival of the victims, who reported having been shot while they were in the Campinho Community.

According to the 9th BPM command, after receiving information about the injured and the confrontation between rival criminal groups in the community, teams from the unit were mobilized to the region. An emergency action was launched to suppress the actions of those involved in the shooting.

On Thursday (22/5), three dead people were found during a police patrol. The area was cordoned off for forensic examination. There was no confrontation involving the police.

Videos circulating on social media show that on the morning of Friday (23/5), police officers were carrying out intense patrols in the region. On the lookout and with rifles on display, the officers continue to sweep the streets of the communities.

Reports published on social media indicate that access to the region is compromised and many residents were unable to leave their homes on Friday. The operation still has no end date.

Other publications, with strong and explicit images, show an injured man, who, according to information passed on by the internet users who shared them, was a member of the Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP) faction who was hit and had his rifle taken by his rivals.

On Friday (23), the Military Police seized a rifle and a large quantity of narcotics during a patrol.
