THREE girls under the age of 15 were injured in a stabbing at Vähäjärvi School in Pirkkala on Tuesday, which the police are investigating as three attempted murders.

According to the police, the victims' injuries were caused by a sharp weapon. According to current information, the victims are not in a life-threatening condition, and they have been taken for further treatment.

The police received a report of violence at the school through the emergency center at 10:42.

The police arrested a minor boy on suspicion of attempted murder in a market near the school. The suspect was arrested shortly after the first reports to the emergency center. The suspect and the victims are students at the school.

Vähäjärvi School has approximately 1,250 children and young people studying. It includes a primary and secondary school, i.e. grades 0–9.

Vähäjärvi School is located right in the centre of Pirkkala, approximately 15 kilometres from Tampere.
