Andrés Cuevas Ollantes was brutally murdered by a police officer in the district of El Porvenir, in the province of Trujillo, Peru. The crime took place after an argument between the two, which ended with the policeman shooting Andrés at point-blank range.
Witnesses say that the policeman, who was visibly more agitated and aggressive than Andrés, lost control and shot the victim.
After the incident, the police officer was immediately arrested by the authorities. He was also expelled from the force and will now face legal proceedings, where he will be tried for his actions. The Peruvian authorities reinforce their commitment to justice and to holding crimes accountable, regardless of who commits them.
