The video footage shows the plane on fire in an open field in Songa village in Agra, with people standing a few feet away from the burning plane. People were seen holding equipment that resembled an ejection seat.
An Indian Air Force statement said: “An Indian Air Force MiG-29 aircraft crashed near Agra during a routine training flight today after encountering a system malfunction. The pilot maneuvered the aircraft to avoid causing damage to life or property on the ground before ejecting safely. The Indian Air Force has ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the accident."
