Newly released surveillance video shows the moment a 16-year-old teenager was beaten to death with a bottle of cider in Argentina, according to local reports.
The attack took place at around 8:30am Monday in the Villa Diamante neighborhood in Lanús.
Local police say 16-year-old Agustín Leonel Pizzirusso was returning home after buying a bottle of cider at the store when he was intercepted by two male subjects.
An argument broke out and one of the suspects snatched his bottle from his hand and bashed the teenager on the head, who subsequently fell to the ground.
As the victim laid on the floor, the suspect hit the teen several times on the head with bottles before both men took off running.
Agustín was taken to a local hospital with irreversible brain damage where he was pronounced dead.
The attacker’s accomplice, identified as 19-year-old Alexis Villamayor, was arrested at a home in the Ezeiza district following a raid ordered by prosecutor Gastón Fernández, authorities said.
The suspect accused of beating Agustín to death remains at large at this time.
