A woman of Colombian origin, identified as María Salomé Castaño Valencia , 33 years old, lost both legs in a tragic traffic accident that occurred this afternoon on Avenida Boulevard Turístico del Este, near the Cabeza de Toro traffic light , in an event previously reported in our media.

The accident occurred when the jeep-type vehicle in which Castaño Valencia was traveling as a passenger skidded and overturned. According to reports obtained by VIP Hato Mayor media, the vehicle, a black Lexus with license plate G050454 , hit the safety railings. These railings went through the jeep's door and cut off the woman's lower limbs.

María Salomé was traveling with Nelson Osvaldo Guerrero Amapro, an American national, who was driving the vehicle and was unharmed in the incident.

The vehicle was taken to the detachment of the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) in the area for the corresponding procedures. Meanwhile, Castaño Valencia is undergoing surgery at the IMG Clinic in the tourist area to treat the serious injuries suffered.
