It took ages to find this: ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ)-A man and woman arrested in January in a disturbing case of child abuse are facing a long list of new charges from the grand jury. Many details in the latest court documents are too graphic to share, outlining the torture investigators say a little girl went through.

We reported on an 8-year-old child who left her home on 43rd Street in Ashland on Jan. 25 and showed up at a neighbor's house covered in bruises.

Austin and Kayla Frazier, who are family members of the child, were arrested and charged with abuse of a child under 12.

Three months later, Austin is facing an extra 20 charges, and Kayla is facing an additional 18.

Austin's charges include first-degree sexual abuse and mutilation, Kayla's include complicity to those acts.

Kayla is also accused of strangling, slapping, and dragging the

girl outside in extreme cold with little clothing.

Court records outline separate incidents where the child was allegedly forced to stand in a corner with her hands above her head for hours and forced to eat her own feces.

Some of the new allegations date back to January of 2023. Another new charge is second-degree cruelty to animals. Court records say Kayla kicked a dog and threw items at it, and Austin kicked and beat the dog.

Commonwealth Attorney Rhonda Copley says three children lived in the home, and they were all removed and are safe now.

She says the dog is safe now too.

She says of all the new charges, only one involved one of the other children. In that incident, a younger sibling was allegedly thrown across a room.
