On June 1, the Public Security Bureau of Quyang County, Baoding, Hebei Province reported that at about 11 a.m. on May 31, a criminal case occurred in Siliuying Village, Yanzhao Town, Quyang County. The criminal suspects Dou Moumou and Ma Moumou first had a financial dispute. They insulted each other on the phone, and then met on the street. Dou Moumou held a knife and injured Ma Moumou and three other people. Three people died after rescue efforts failed. Dou Moumou was arrested.

On May 31, netizens posted a video saying that a fight broke out in Quyang County and three people were suspected of being hacked to death.
