Eduardo Macías Zambrano, a seafood merchant, was shot in the head when he arrived at the First Notary Office of the Valencia canton, located on García Moreno street. After the bullet impacts the man collapsed in the doorway, where he died.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19. The victim had arrived in a red pickup truck with a wooden box. Apparently, he had been murdered for robbery.

According to the police, the murderers were driving a red car with tinted windows.

The agents, upon noticing the incident, followed the suspects, but were unable to locate them.

Witnesses of the violent incident said that the killers were four men, who shot in the face and thorax of the deceased.

The body was taken to the Quevedo morgue, while uniformed officers continued with operations to locate the criminals.

In Los Ríos, between Monday and this Friday six people have been murdered in the cantons of Quevedo, Babahoyo, Vinces and Valencia. (I)
