Clash between armed civilians and National Guard leaves several dead

La Concordia.- Armed subjects who allegedly had been part of the confrontation that occurred in the vicinity of the Nuevo Paraíso community of this town, encountered elements of the National Guard , for which they had an armed confrontation with the officers in the area of ​​the pier. According to data collected by this media, after the armed attack that occurred in the Nuevo Paraíso community, agents of the federal forces began to arrive in the area of ​​La Concordia in order to take action and provide peace of mind to the citizens. .

However, it emerged that when a National Guard convoy was carrying out operational tasks, they encountered attacks from an armed group, who shot at the officers, so federal elements immediately began to repel the attack.

Due to the confrontation between armed civilians and the National Guard , vehicular traffic was stopped, as people were stranded in the area, although some managed to take shelter to avoid being hit by a projectile.

One of the warehouses used by the company that builds the Cable-stayed bridge suffered damage from the attacks , as it ended up being set on fire, causing losses for the construction company.

There were several minutes of confrontation, where at least 20 armed individuals from the civil group lost their lives , in addition to three members of the National Guard being injured, who are already being treated in a hospital.

So far the authorities have not confirmed the number of deaths and have not mentioned if there are people detained for this confrontation, in which many of the citizens passing through the area felt fear for their safety.

It is necessary to mention that it is presumed that among the dead there is an innocent person who lost his life due to being caught in the crossfire, however it is expected that the authorities will be able to corroborate this information that was given unofficially.

Meanwhile, it is expected that in this region of Chiapas operations by federal forces will continue, in order to guarantee the security of the residents.
