Manta: Gas merchant was murdered outside of business

The crime occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, March 21, 2024. The man was born in Chone, but since he was 14 he lived in Manta

Police are investigating the violent and unexpected crime of Francisco Eliseo Verduga García, a gas merchant murdered on the afternoon of Thursday, March 21, outside his business.

Don Verduga, as his clients used to call him, was shot in the head by individuals who arrived outside his business premises. His son and his nephew, who were with him, were injured by the gunshots.

In a desperate act to save him, Verduga was taken to the Cuba Libre health center, but he died . About 100 people around couldn't believe what happened. They remember him as supportive and hard-working. 

This is how it became known

Verduga was a man of challenges, daring in business. That is why he decided at the time to sell gas in a family store . He did so well that he gradually acquired more product because his clientele increased. The attention and human warmth allowed him to become well known.

Since 1995, he went from retail sales to establishing a gas distributor . His letter of introduction was his smile to welcome clients. In 2017 he decided to close the store and dedicated himself exclusively to gas distribution.
