Man Accused of Killing Woman and Disappearing with Her Body Is Burned Alive by the Population in Rato Molhado, Sampaio, North Zone, Rio de Janeiro RJ

On Sunday night, a shocking scene shook the community of Rato Molhado, in the neighborhood of Sampaio, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. A man, accused of killing a woman and trying to hide her body, was lynched and burned alive by the local population.

According to witness reports, the suspect, identified as João da Silva, was seen carrying a suspicious bag out of his residence during the early hours of the morning. Suspicious, residents alerted the authorities and decided to confront the individual.

When asked about the contents of the bag, João contradicted himself, which increased public distrust. In a moment of revolt, the crowd decided to act on their own and overpowered the accused, who was tied up and dragged to an open area.
