Quaraí, Fronteira Oeste, Brazil - In the early hours of Sunday, January 28, the community of Quaraí woke up shocked by a tragic event that left an 18-year-old girl, Amanda Ril Pereira, lifeless. The Civil Police reports that Amanda was the victim of a shot in the face, fired by her 26-year-old ex-boyfriend. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m.
According to the authorities, the relationship between Amanda and her ex-boyfriend had recently ended, which suggests that the crime was perpetrated in a context of gender violence after the breakup. The ex-boyfriend, whose name has not been released, was arrested and is in police custody
