50 year old patient brought to ER due to a lodged knife to his face. Haemodynamic features were regular, pain was 5/10, patient was lucid and oriented in space and time, both pupils were photorreactive and isochoric. No motor impairment was visible. No sings of bleeding were visible. An important thing to note here is that singular stab wounds with lodged weapon usually bleed less because of compression to ruptured vessels. In no way, shape or form should you or anyone try to remove a lodged weapon out of someone outside an operating room. Not even the ER. Only with proper tool, location and training should this be done.
