Images from a security camera recorded the exact moment a tow truck passes over a bike on Thursday afternoon (19), in the Hélio Ponce neighborhood, in Várzea Grande. The accident caused the death of Brenda Vitória Alves, 17, who was on the bike with her mother, who was treated for some fractures.
According to information, the Civil Police were called via the Integrated Operations and Public Security Center (Ciosp) at 3pm to respond to an accident with victims on Das Garças Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, the driver reported that he was driving in the neighborhood, when trying to reverse, he did not see the bike and ended up running over the victims.
On impact, mother and daughter were seriously injured. They were rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to the Várzea Grande Emergency Room.
The teenager did not survive the severity of her injuries and died hours later. The truck driver did not have any type of injury and was taken to the police station to provide clarification.
