Tragedy: Three people die in serious accident on BR-402, between Rosário and Morros
Of the five people from Gol, residents of the Divineia neighborhood, in São Luís, three died instantly, including the driver, the wife of one of the passengers and another woman, who accompanied the two couples.
Three people died in a serious accident, this Sunday afternoon (23), around 3:40 pm, on the BR-402, in Povoado Nambuaçu, between the cities of Rosário and Morros, in the Munim Region.
One of the vehicles involved in the accident was a white Volkswagen Gol, with five people, residents of the Divinéia neighborhood, in São Luís, who were returning from a bath in Morros.
Gol entered the opposite lane, hit the side of a Renault and collided head-on with a Frontier truck, which was traveling from São Luís to Barreirinhas.
It is not known whether the Gol driver fell asleep at the wheel or tried to overtake in an unauthorized stretch.
